Leaving tomorrow

Hey there folks, sorry for the lack of posts, but I've been pretty busy. Lately, all I've been able to think about is the upcoming Rocky Mountain Furry convention in Denver, where I'll be tomorrow through the end of Monday, back at work on Tuesday.

I'm extremely nervous and anxious and everything about the trip. I'm a kitty of habit; I like familiar things and comfy surroundings. So, a lot of new stuff will be thrown at me all at once! I'll be in a new city, at a new hotel, meeting new people, at a new convention of a type I've never seen. Plus, I'll be sharing my room with a very good friend, who I will also have not met until I arrive. I think once I get started on the trip things will be cool, I just need to get used to it, once I get there.

I hope to take lots of neat pictures, and have some stories to tell when I return! Who knows, I might even blog a bit from the hotel if the wifi is good :D

Kitten on the keys!

Hiyas! I'm excited today too, I have a solo show tonight! Been a while since I had one, so I'm a little nervous. But, it's always a blast, provided I can keep from rambling on the mic about the song I played/am going to play... Frogg continually has to remind me "Dude, play some music!", hehe...

Still, it's fun, and I hope to even sing Happy Birthday to Shaunny, who is celebrating it today even, I think!

Another thing I didn't mention yesterday is how excited I am to visit a friend in the LA area named Hunter! We've known each other for a few months now, and he loves to have company and entertain, so I made arrangements to fly down for the weekend exactly a month from now. He's also an avid cook, and loves to just relax and hang out, so I am hoping it's a wonderful vacation from my normal busy weekend, and plus I get to travel! The recipes he's been talking about sound just fantastic, and we might even go out to eat somewhere and visit some neat places in town. It's only a weekend, so I don't have to use any vacation time, but it's easy to go and visit in the future too. Should be a blast! :D

Excited!

I'm getting pretty excited about the upcoming furry convention I'll be going to in Denver :) A little over a week away now! I'll get to meet Kain, and Gog, and the Luskwood crew again... I can't wait! Been thinking about it a lot. I'm actually going to be there kind of late on Monday, so I hope there are alternative activities going on after the con ends, or I'll be a bit bored hanging out at the hotel or airport waiting for my flight. Not that it's problem if I have my laptop with me, of course...

Still, getting closer! Hmm, need to schedule a haircut before I go, I think, and start doing laundry I know I'll need :D

Update time

Okay, time to do an update... I've been putting it off long enough because not much has been happening really.

I've been getting more and more excited about the upcoming Rocky Mountain FurCon in Denver at the end of the month, for a few reasons. 1) It looks like Gog might be there after all (yay!), 2) Not only are the Luskwood crew going to be there but they are holding a panel on how to create avatars (sounds fascinating), 3) people who signed up for a certain registration fee (like I did) get a free custom avatar (possibly some type of feline!) that is only available to con-goers, and 4) I am able to bring my hard sided 61-key keyboard case, so I'll have a piano there to play around with and get to play!

In other news, near the end of June I am planning a trip to California where I will meet up with another good friend I have met online, Hunterkitty! He really likes having company over, and we both thought it might be fun if I came to visit. That should be fun, I haven't been in the Los Angeles area since 1990 or so. It's just for a weekend too, so I don't have to worry about taking more time off work (except maybe a little on Friday).

Then, in July, Rosa comes to visit, hooray! I've been getting more diligent in determining what we might do. I discovered there's a great garden called the Oregon Garden, up near Silver Falls State Park (where I had planned to take her at some point during the visit). All in all, here's what I know I have planned, other than cooking, movies, and Frogg n' Jay concerts: Trip to Silver Falls/OR Garden, trip to the OR coast, trip to Bend to see Maken and other activities around that area, and in town: the Saturday Market, and a short hike in the woods. Should be a ton of fun! And of course, if the weather sucks alternate plans will be made. :D

The plans for our group at the SecondLife convention still haven't been determined, unfortunately. We're getting closer by the day and still have not practiced. Oh well, at least we have a group name picked out, I guess that's something? I really wish people were more interested in determining our song list like I am, but everyone's just too busy I guess. I'm more jazzed about going to meet all the folks I recognize online, but I do wish things were more final in terms of what we're actually playing for an hour there.

As part of figuring out where to hike in the woods, I've started taking part of Sundays to go hiking with some friends. Joel and I will most always go, and I'm hoping Frogg will want to tag along too. Both of us really could use the exercise, hehe...

Anyway, that's about it for me for now. Sorry for the delay in posts, and I'll try to get back into the swing of things!
